Hi Girls!
This your final - final chance to go with us to Thailand on the all women's charter. We had enough ladies sign up to book the big 50' Beneteau and then one gal from NY couldn't get out of a work commitment. That means that there is one bunk left in a shared cabin with two single bunks. The rest of the gals range from non sailors to experienced cruisers and racers so everybody is welcome. Come to learn, or come to tan, but you will LAUGH!
I will be skippering the boat and my pal Betsy Crowfoot is the First Mate. She is a well known sailing journalist, racer and world traveler, just back from a 6 month South American adventure. We've sailed together for many years and delivered boats in Mexico and back from Hawaii. She's lots of fun and a great cook too. Our charter will be in the beautiful Phuket region and full of sightseeing, sailing, swimming, great food and company.
The price of this last bunk is $1990 which includes meals other that the meals we eat ashore along the way. We're all arriving a few days early to sight see, will be staying in a very reasonable Hotel near the marina, and are leaving a day after the charter is done. Airfare is about $1200 unless you want to use up all those miles you have sitting there...
Dates are May 9-16 for the charter. Our itinerary is depart LA May 5, onboard the 9th thru the 16th, fly home the 17th arriving LA the 17th. We are all on the same flight but you can come and go as you like. Stop off in New Zealand on the way home if you want! Whatever works.
We all say "someday I'm going too..." but never get around to doing the things we dream about. Here's your chance. What ARE you waiting for? Life's short. 'Next time' may be too late. Come and join us.

WSA - Avalon Trip w/Adornment
As you know, we have an "adornment" that must accompany the hostess of each event. The "adornment" must be in a picture taken by the hostess to represent the event. A steering committee will judge all pictures at the end of the year for the "Best Adornment Pic".
Since Holly Davis hosted the Avalon Trip and as part of our trip, we had Movie Night at the Casino, she and Susan have given us our first pic of the season and by looking at it, I think the three of them really enjoyed the movie :)
The bar is set!!!
WSA Avalon Trip - Captains Log
On March 12, three WSA boats headed to Avalon. Honu, with Holly and Susan arrived in the afternoon, followed by Aurora, with commodore Kathy Fancher and Karen and Amelia on board, and later that evening Karma arrived with captain Cherie Moulin and Loryne and new member, Patty Rankin. This was a great time to go to Avalon as the moorings were plentiful, the flowers were blooming, the hills were green and there were NO crowds! Saturday morning, our friend Chris Todd, who lives on the island, took us on a great hike, pointing out the indigenous island plants and giving us spectacular views of the harbor. Everyone enjoyed the hike, especially Maggie and Ziggy Pickles!
That evening we rendezvoused at the historic casino theatre and were treated to live music from a pipe organ before the movie. The interior of the theatre is magical.
Sunday morning came too soon, (daylight saving) but it was a beautiful clear day with a crisp wind and we all had a fabulous sail home. We had a great time and will definitely make this an annual event!
